Parenting Styles Lesson

On Thursday there was a presentation on parenting styles. This was a great presentation and very informative. One of the things that I learned was about the four different types of parenting styles that there are.
The first is the authoritarian parenting. This styles is that the parents expect the children to follow strict rules. Failure to follow these rules will result in a punishment. The second is the authoritative parent. They have rules for their children to follow and also punishment when not followed. This style is more democratic where the parents are willing to listen to their children. The third is the permissive parent. They have very few demand and don’t really discipline their children. The last is the uninvolved parent. This style is that the parents really don’t care what their children do. This is a free for all, not the best type of parent.
I learned a lot of information on that topic and can  now understand all different parenting styles. My parents style is authoritative. I feel that this is the best style because there are rules but they are not crazy. Also, they are willing to listen to you and that is important in order to have a healthy relationship.
The girl’s presentation was very engaging. I liked the game that we played guessing statistics. This was a great way to learn the information and also fun at the same time. I feel that in order to keep people interested in your topic you need to ask questions and get feedback from what you are saying.
